Cuvex BIT (Biometric Identity Technology)

Cuvex BIT is the evolution of our original device, redesigned with a stronger focus on physical security, access control and long-term sovereign use.

This model incorporates premium materials, removes unnecessary wireless components, and introduces biometric access control for encrypted cryptograms, while maintaining full compatibility with the Cuvex ecosystem.

Key differences and enhancements

Premium anodized aluminum enclosure

Cuvex BIT features a redesigned body made from anodized aluminum with a premium finish, improving durability, tamper resistance, and overall device robustness for long-term use.

No NFC. No Bluetooth. Reduced attack surface

Wireless components have been deliberately removed.

• No Bluetooth module

• No NFC interface

Firmware updates are now performed exclusively via USB-C, directly from the Cuvex smartphone application.
This decision reduces the attack surface, simplifies the update process, and aligns with user feedback prioritizing maximum isolation.

Biometric access control (Fingerprint sensor)

Cuvex BIT introduces a biometric access layer based on fingerprint recognition.

The integrated biometric sensor allows authorized users to control access to encrypted cryptograms during encryption and decryption operations.

• Supports both Single-Signature and Multi-Signature cryptograms

• Biometric verification is used in addition to the encryption password, not as a replacement

• Enables scenarios where:

  • a single encryption password is shared

  • multiple authorized individuals must be physically present to decrypt the secret

For Multi-Signature use cases, the system requires:

• the correct password

• each required fingerprint of the authorized participants

This provides strong access control without increasing password complexity.

Full backward compatibility

Cuvex BIT is fully compatible with all cryptogram cards generated using previous Cuvex devices.

Security model

Cuvex BIT retains all core security properties of Cuvex, including:

• Offline cryptographic operations

• Watch-Only architecture

• PSBT-based signing flows

• No backend, no telemetry, no balance auditing

Cuvex BIT adds biometric access control and hardened physical design to the same sovereign security model.
